The money will be donated to the Bill Howerton Fund.Redeemer grabbed the lead on an RBI double by Britney Hebda to score Mackenzie Savner in the seventh inning.Tiana Wren went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple for the Royals.Morgan Bienkowski picked up the win in relief, going three innings and giving up one run and three hits and striking out four.SOFTBALLKing&#8217;s sweeps MorrisvilleKing&#8217;s got two outstanding pitching performances from Scranton H.S. grad, Samantha Bloom and Rachel Linso of Northwest Area, as the Monarchs posted a doubleheader sweep of visiting Morrisville State Sunday at the Betzler Athletic Complex.King&#8217;s, which won the first game 8-0 in six innings and then 8-0 in five innings to improve to 16-12.In the opener, Bloom tossed a one-hitter, striking out eight batters over the first three innings while finishing with 10 for the game.Amy Kowalczyk was 3 for 4 with four RBI, including a three-run double which ended the game. Kelcie Senchak was 2-for-3 with a run; Alizabeth Ellsworth added a two-run double; while Brittany McNair delivered a two-run single.In the nightcap, Linso was also impressive, throwing a four-hitter while striking out seven batters.Zina Knight went 3-for-4 with four RBI, including a three-run triple to end the game. Meagan Beaupre was 2-for-3 with a run while Maddie Kumm finished 2-for-2 with two runs and a RBI. Lexie Wolk also added two hits to the King&#8217;s attack.MEN&#8217;S TENNIS Wilkes 6, Ursinus 3Wilkes won its fourth straight match with a 6-3 victory at Ursinus College on Sunday afternoon.With the win, Wilkes moves to 15-1 overall and pushes its match win streak to four straight dating back to April 6.Wilkes swept all three doubles matches before taking three singles flights to seal the non-conference, regional road win.BASEBALL King&#8217;s splits at DeSalesKing&#8217;s split a doubleheader with conference foe DeSales University on Sunday at Butz Field in Center Valley. The Monarchs&#8217; seventh inning rally fell short in a 6-5 game one loss before taking the nightcap 5-3.The Monarchs are now 18-8 overall and 8-5 in the conference.The split enables the Bulldogs to win the season series from the Monarchs after winning the first game of the series 11-2 back on March 24. The win for the Monarchs is their first over DeSales since the 2013 season and the first win in Center Valley since the 2011 season.The Monarchs got hits from seven different players in game one while Rebar had two RBIs and Wilkins and Reynolds had one each. John Wickiser pitched a complete game on the mound allowing six runs, four earned, on nine hits with two strikeouts and one walk. After a big first inning for the Bulldogs Wickiser was able to settle down and only allowed six hits in the remaining five innings of work.In the two games Chris Rebar, Sean Padden, and Christian Pack had three hits each. Padden hit his seventh home run of the year.
