Daughters of former Wilkes-Barre mayors Kelly Leighton and Erin (McLaughlin) Griffin make a run of their own in Boston Marathon

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A crash on Monday night near the intersection of River and Market streets sent a juvenile to the hospital.</p><p>According to his friend, George Powell, of Wilkes-Barre, Tyler Harris was hit while riding a scooter at about 8:45 p.m. Powell, himself, was on a bicycle.</p><p>&#8220;He didn&#8217;t think the car was going to turn,&#8221; said Powell, &#8220;and he was in the wrong spot.&#8221;</p><p>Harris did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, but according to bystanders, he had a significant gash on his head and was put in a neck brace and placed on a gurney by emergency personnel.</p><p>He was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Police said it appeared that he would fully recover.</p><p>The owner of a silver sedan that had hit Harris was visibly shaken and seemed to be fully cooperative with Wilkes-Barre police, who had several cruisers on site.</p><p>The area is frequented by youngsters on scooters, bicycles and skateboards.</p><style>

Juvenile lands in hospital after crash in downtown Wilkes-Barre
