PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Pennsylvania's attorney general has routinely used personal email accounts to conduct official business despite an office ban that says doing so risks security. Records obtained by The Associated Press show Kathleen Kane sent or received nearly 4,000 work-related emails through AOL and Yahoo accounts from the time she took office in January 2013 through August 2015. Some of the emails contain sensitive and confidential information, including secret grand jury and attorney-client communications and the identities of undercover agents. The 2009 policy specifically mentions AOL and Yahoo as services that should not be used. Kane says she never knew such a policy existed until the AP asked about it. A spokesman says she continues to use personal email and that the practice helps her expedite matters.
