PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A suspended Philadelphia police detective accused of kicking a man and breaking his right leg has been ordered to stand trial on aggravated assault and other charges. Forty-three-year-old Adam O'Donnell, a detective with the special victims unit, is also charged with unlawful restraint, obstructing administration of law and official oppression. But The Philadelphia Inquirer (http://bit.ly/1SBng29 ) reports that Judge Teresa Carr Deni on Friday dismissed a kidnapping charge. A 45-year-old man testified that O'Donnell kicked him in the right knee, fracturing his femur, in February 2015 outside the Special Victims Unit. Defense attorney Gregory Pagano suggested that he had been "hostile" to a detective and O'Donnell went to her aid, but the witness rejected that version of events.
