Businesses fail for many different reasons. Marriages fail for many different reasons.Catholics who divorce and remarry, unless they pay for an annulment, are not allowed to receive Holy Communion. Those who can afford annulment and get approved by the church are able to receive the sacrament, and those who can&#8217;t will not. It&#8217;s like the judicial system: The rich, connected people in high places receive &#8220;just us justice&#8221; and the rest are given due process.The pope is trying to lighten the cost so anyone involved in a failed marriage and who wants to continue their faith will be able to receive Holy Communion. Does a document really mean you will be forgiven for your sins? That&#8217;s a far stretch.George J. KochisKingston
