MOOSIC &#8212; Tuesday night just seemed like one of those nights when the RailRiders weren&#8217;t going to be able to rebound.Scranton/Wilkes-Barre left 12 runners on base and went 3 for 10 with runners in scoring position. But the team still pulled out a 4-3 win over Lehigh Valley at PNC Field when the winning run scored on a passed ball in the bottom of the 10th inning.The RailRiders loaded the bases in the bottom of the 10th on a single by Donovan Solano, a walk by Pete Kozma and an infield single from Lane Adams. The next batter, Ben Gamel, stepped in and swung and missed the first pitch, but the ball skipped off the glove of IronPigs&#8217; catcher Andrew Knapp and Solano raced home with the game-ending run.The run came after the RailRiders left two runners on in the eighth and left the bases loaded in the ninth.&#8220;What I thought was to just get ready for anything,&#8221; Solano said. &#8220;We didn&#8217;t get the base hit the inning before when we had opportunities. So I was thinking get ready for wild pitch, passed ball, whatever. I took a couple steps more usually and it went from there. I saw the catcher be like &#8216;where&#8217;s the ball&#8217; and then I broke.&#8221;Luis Cessa got the start for SWB and went 5 1/3 innings, his longest outing this season only allowing two runs on four hits. He got comfortable near the end of his outing facing the minimum number of batters of his last 2 1/3 innings pitched, after he allowed a home run to Knapp in the fourth inning.&#8220;I thought my command was a little wild tonight, but I was working on good pitches like my changeup and my other stuff,&#8221; Cessa said. &#8220;After the home run, I felt a little more comfortable. I didn&#8217;t have any trouble in the fifth. I feel like I had a good start tonight.&#8221;The RailRiders missed a huge chance in the bottom of the second when they loaded the bases with no outs and only scored one run, which scored on a double play. Pete Kozma hit into the twin-killing, and Lane Adams followed with a ground out to end the inning with SWB leading 1-0.Lehigh Valley came back in the next half inning getting two baserunners on with no out. The team scored a run with one out when Darnell Sweeney laced an RBI-single to right tying the score at 1-1.A home run by Knapp to right field that barely cleared the fence, gave the IronPigs a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth.SWB finally capitalized on a bases-loaded situation in the bottom of the fourth. Lane Adams singled in a run to tie the score at 2-2 before Gamel hit a go-ahead sacrifice fly giving the RailRiders a 3-2 advantage.The lead for SWB lasted until the top of the ninth as Cessa and Tyler Webb kept the IronPigs off the board for three innings. Diego Moreno tossed a scoreless eighth before allowing a leadoff homer to Taylor Featherston in the ninth to tie the game at 3-3.Chris Parmelee continued his hot hitting for the RailRiders finishing 2 for 4 with a pair of runs scored.
