Trump, Clinton win Pennsylvania; Dems tap McGinty for Senate

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton came away big winners in Pennsylvania's presidential primaries. Trump received support across the demographic spectrum Tuesday. Clinton prevailed with women, blacks and voters 45 and older. With almost all precincts reporting, Trump won 57 percent, including majorities in every Pennsylvania county. Clinton had 56 percent to 44 percent for Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. More than 3 million ballots were cast, but Pennsylvania didn't break a turnout record. Clinton now has 90 percent of the delegates needed to win the nomination. Trump has 77 percent of the delegates needed to win the nomination. Also Tuesday, Democrats backed their party establishment's choice for U.S. Senate. Democrat Katie McGinty will challenge Republican incumbent Pat Toomey in the fall. Democrats rejected former congressman Joe Sestak, who six years ago nearly won the office.
