<p>Crestwood grad Matt Wotherspoon learned on Tuesday night that he would be promoted to the RailRiders. Wotherspoon, a right-hander, will become the first Northeast Pennsylvania-born pitcher to pitch for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.</p><p>He will join Russ Canzler (Hazleton Area) as the only two grads from the Wyoming Valley Conference to play for their hometown team. Canzler, currently employed by the RailRiders in the front office, played for the club in 2014.</p><p>Wotherspoon, 24, has been dominant this season for Double-A Trenton going 1-0 with a 1.06 ERA (2ER in 17IP) while striking out 21 and only allowing six walks and five hits.</p><p>Wotherspoon, a native of Mountain Top, could see his first action on Wednesday night at Buffalo. If not, his Triple-A debut will be closer to home. The RailRiders play at Lehigh Valley on Thursday and Friday before returning home to PNC Field in Moosic for a nine-game homestand starting on Saturday.</p><style>
