<p>SCRANTON &#8212; A Forty Fort dentist is facing federal charges for allegedly filing a false tax return with the Internal Revenue Service.</p><p>According to court records unsealed Thursday, a federal grand jury indicted Charles Musto, D.M.D., a periodontist with an office at 920 Wyoming Ave., Forty Fort, claiming he knowingly reported less in receipts and net income on his 2010 tax return. The document was originally filed April 12 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.</p><p>According to the court filing, on his 2010 tax return, Musto reported gross receipts of $1,504,970 and business income of $587,330 &#8220;when he knew he received gross receipts and business income in excess of the amounts stated on the return.&#8221;</p><p>The documents show Musto filed the return for his dental practice and for rental properties he owns, and states the return was verified &#8220;by a written declaration that it was made under the penalties of perjury.&#8221;</p><p>According to Musto&#8217;s business website, he has been practicing periodontology and implant dentistry in his Forty Fort office since 1992. It states he is a 1990 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, having graduated from The University of Scranton in 1986 with a B.S. in biology.</p><p>The website also states Musto is a past president and board member of the Luzerne County Dental Society.</p><p>Musto is scheduled for arraignment at 2 p.m on May 17 at the William J. Nealon Federal Building and U.S. Courthouse in Scranton.</p><style>
