WVC baseball teams adjust to wet weather

<p>HAZLETON &#8212; City police responded to the area of Church and 7th streets just after 3 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a large group of students preparing to fight.</p><p>While en route to the call, it was reported that a male arrived at the scene brandishing a firearm and threatening several students.</p><p>Upon arrival, officers determined that a firearm was never shown/brandished by the male.</p><p>Police continue to investigate the incident and ask that anyone who witnessed or has information regarding the incident call 911 or the Hazleton Police Dept. at 570-459-4940.</p><p>&#8220;The men and women of Hazleton&#8217;s Finest have the ability to see situations for what they are and are endowed with the skills required to handle such difficult task,&#8221; city Police Chief Jerry Speziale said in a prepared statement. &#8220;Anyone involved in gun violence will be pursued vigorously and charged accordingly.&#8221;</p><style>
