Track and field teams gear up for Cross Invitational

<p>READING &#8212; Sarah Wigg and Oniesha Clarke both won individual titles to vault the Misericordia women into first place on the second day of the MAC Track and Field Championships on Friday at Alvernia University.</p><p>Wigg won the hammer throw while Clarke claimed the long jump. Reilly Wagner finished second in the high jump and Bethany Killmon was fourth in the 3,000 steeplechase.</p><p>Sarah Ostroski was fourth in the long jump. Wagner was sixth while Nicole Schwartz was fourth in the hammer.</p><p>Zach Moody (steeplechase) and Tobi Olugbenga (high jump) recorded third-place finishes to lead Misericordia&#8217;s men&#8217;s team. Jalen Armstead finished fifth in the high jump and Greg Shultz was tied for eighth.</p><p>The 400 meter relay team of Seun Omolana, Sean Meade, Shultz and Andrew Nelson finished second in the preliminaries. Nelson and Michael Harth tied for fourth in the 400 and Tyler Lamberson was sixth.</p><p><strong>King&#8217;s track has solid day</strong></p><p>King&#8217;s had a good showing on the second day of the MAC Track and Field Championships. The women&#8217;s team stands in seventh place with 25 points heading into the final day while the men&#8217;s team is in ninth place with five points.</p><p>Morgan Albrecht finished 12th in the 3,000 steeplechase for the women&#8217;s team. Ben Siegel from Tunkhannock High School took home second team all-conference honors with a sixth-place finish for the men&#8217;s team.</p><p>The men&#8217;s 400 relay team of Brandon Hampton, Sean Doherty, Tyler Gallagher, and Joe Falcone qualified for Saturday&#8217;s final by running a 45.21 in the preliminaries. In the women&#8217;s 100 meter hurdles, Alexis Steeber from Berwick finished 10th.</p><p>Tunkhannock grad Ellen Kuzma qualified for Saturday&#8217;s women&#8217;s 100-meter dash final with a season-best 12.94 while Margaret Bentkowski ran a season-best 13.18 to finish 11th. In the men&#8217;s 100, Joe Falcone ran an 11.60.</p><p>In field events, Jill Korgeski earned first team All-Conference honors with a second-place finish in the women&#8217;s shot put. Sonia Okolo earned honorable mention honors with a seventh-place finish. In the men&#8217;s shot put, Tyler Maxwell finished in 11th place.</p><p>Steeber just missed All-Conference honors with a mark of 4.60 meters in the long jump to finish ninth. In the women&#8217;s hammer throw, Taylor Runo earned second team All-MAC honors by finishing sixth and Erika Martyn earned honorable mention honors by finishing seventh.</p><p><strong>BOYS LACROSSE</strong></p><p><strong>Dallas 17,</strong></p><p><strong>North Pocono 7</strong></p><p>Stone Mannello and Jack Ziemba scored four goals each and Connor Motley added three as Dallas defeated North Pocono.</p><p><strong>BOYS VOLLEYBALL</strong></p><p><strong>Delaware Valley 3,</strong></p><p><strong>Wyoming Valley West 0</strong></p><p>Tyler Smith had nine kills and 11 service points to pace Delaware Valley to a 25-17, 25-21, 25-16 win.</p><p>Liam Naturale had 37 assists and Colin Naturale added 26 digs.</p><style>
