<p>Areas of a 10-mile stretch of roadway that runs from Exeter to Swoyersville will be under construction for about a month, according to PennDOT officials.</p><p>The street &#8212; known as &#8220;the Back Road&#8221; and designated as state Route 1010 &#8212; was heavily congested on Thursday as crews worked to prepare the surface for paving.</p><p>&#8220;As of Friday handicapped ramps have been installed, and the street had been milled,&#8221; said Mike Taluto, of PennDOT.</p><p>Residents seem to be taking the inconvenience in stride, looking forward to seeing the roadway, previously pitted with holes and uneven surfaces, again become a smooth service.</p><p>&#8220;Everyone cries about how bad the roads are,&#8221; said Frank Morder, of West Wyoming. &#8220;Now we&#8217;re crying because of the inconvenience. When they&#8217;re finished, we will think how great it is and that it&#8217;s long overdue.&#8221;</p><p>Morder said he tries to figure out where crews are working on a daily basis so he can detour around the congested area.</p><p>Taluto acknowledged that motorists will be experiencing some inconvenience in the upcoming weeks.</p><p>&#8220;There are going to be some intermittent delays,&#8221; he said. &#8220;The weather will also affect the work.</p><p>Swoyersville Councilman Joseph Olejnick said he hopes that residents will take any delays in stride.</p><p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a minor inconvenience for much improved roads,&#8221; said Olejnick.</p><p>Swoyersville Mayor Christopher Concert agrees.</p><p>&#8220;A little delay is worth the results in the end,&#8221; he said. &#8220;I have fought for years for this, and I&#8217;m thrilled it&#8217;s finally happening.</p><style>
