Lawsuit: Failure to identify condition lead to man's death

HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) — A Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to distributing heroin and crack cocaine that led to the overdose death of a 26-year-old man in January 2015. Thirty-nine-year-old Dameon Lattimore pleaded guilty in federal court in Harrisburg on Monday to distribution of heroin resulting in death. Lattimore is the second of three federally indicted defendants to plead guilty. The third defendant remains at large and a fourth person involved in the case has been charged locally. Prosecutors alleged that Lattimore and three other defendants sold heroin to William Elza, who began to overdose after he took the drugs. Investigators alleged that they prevented the man's friend from calling for help and dragged Elza into an alley, where he was found dead. Lattimore faces 20 years to life in prison when he's sentenced.
