Hazleton City Council members approve the hiring of three police officers

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Police say a man was punched in the face and then shot in the foot early Wednesday morning.</p><p>At 2:58 a.m., the 26-year-old man reported to police he got out of his vehicle near Public Square to see if any of his friends were in the area. He said the suspect, described as a 6-foot-tall black man, approached him and punched him in the left side of the face.</p><p>The police report indicates the reporting officer did not see any bruising on the victim&#8217;s face.</p><p>The victim then told police he blacked out from the punch and, when he woke up, he noticed a gunshot wound to one of his feet and personal property had been stolen from him.</p><p>The victim was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.</p><style>
