Letter to the Editor: Luzerne County Council’s members encouraged to show uncommon leadership

<p>Who would ever think we would have a day that the government would determine what bathroom you may use?</p><p>There was a time when what you were born with would determine what sex you were; DNA would confirm this. Now it is determined by feelings. What is next? Are birth certificates going to need to leave out gender? Are we going to need to finish a second certificate by a certain age, so when the person can identify what sex he or she will be, the document can be completed?</p><p>Listen, I do not feel anyone should be picked on for being different. But we, as a society, have hit a melting point. No more truth, only lies are acceptable. You may, or may not, believe America is on a collision course with God. People make up what they feel God would accept. But the truth is God has his written word to tell you what he likes and what he does not like. His word will tell you what he will judge.</p><p>Now, his judgment might come by sending you a leader who will destroy the very foundations this country was built on. He might send you so-called natural disasters: volcanic eruptions, earthquakes in various places, tornadoes, drought, blights, etc. God&#8217;s word tells you all this.</p><p>God gave our society an example of work ethic. Six days you work, and the seventh you rest. Now we have second and third generations of people who only know handouts. People multiply their families on someone else&#8217;s dime, without blinking an eye. What happened? America has sold its soul.</p><p>I do pray for America and that God will put a protective hedge around those who care. What is truly sad is this: There is room for it to get a lot worse, and it will.</p><p><strong>Maure Devers</strong></p><p>Dorrance Township</p><style>
