<p>PLAINS TWP. &#8212; A man was burned and his rental cabin caught fire when the leaf blower he was using &#8220;blew up&#8221; on Thursday evening.</p><p>Plains Township firefighters were battling the remnants of a blaze that sparked just before 7:40 p.m. as smoke wafted from the rental cabin at the Woodlands Inn &amp; Resort complex at 1075 Highway 315.</p><p>Township police Sgt. Dave Abraham, who was at the scene, said Patrolman Bill Poulos was the first emergency responder to arrive at the scene.</p><p>Abraham said the sole occupant of the cabin told Poulos that he was using a leaf blower, with the strap slung over his shoulder, when the leaf blower &#8220;blew up.&#8221;</p><p>He was transported to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center for treatment. Abraham said he saw burns on the man&#8217;s side and back.</p><p>Abraham said he assumes that surrounding leaves caught fire when the man dropped the leaf blower, and the fire spread to the cabin.</p><p>An employee at the Woodlands confirmed that the Kornfeld family, who own the Woodlands, also own the rental cabins on the resort property.</p><style>
