Our Opinion: Reserve time in your holiday for National Moment of Remembrance

<p>After reading the article concerning the West Side communities needing money for street repair (<a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/543324/west-side-leaders-weigh-in-on-condition-of-roadways" target="_blank">&#8220;Funding West Side roadwork a challenge</a>,&#8221; May 16), I couldn&#8217;t help but wonder why they don&#8217;t return that hot-asphalt, pothole patching machine they purchased several years ago with gambling funds. The equipment cost quite a bit.</p><p>Or if not, they could just keep repairing the potholes.</p><p>Better yet, next time they could use that money to reduce property taxes, as then-Gov. Ed Rendell said gambling money would be used for when he was trying to make slot-machine gambling legal in Pennsylvania.</p><p><strong>Vince Gross</strong></p><p>Bear Creek Township</p><style>
