Letter to the Editor: Health-care system consolidation is bad prescription for Pennsylvania

Thomas Maheady named Engineer of the Year by Pa. Society of Professional Engineers

<p>The White Haven Area Community Library thanks the many businesses and individuals who made our recent &#8220;Hops &amp; Grapes&#8221; beer, wine and food-tasting festival such an enjoyable afternoon for those attending and a successful fundraiser for our all-volunteer, independent library.</p><p>Craft beers generously were provided by Nimble Hill Brewing Co., Northeast Eagle Distributors, Resort Beverage Co., and Susquehanna Brewing Co. The wide selection of wine was provided by Nimble Hill Vineyard and Winery, and Stonekeep Meadery. Delicious food was provided by Antonio&#8217;s Pizza, Brass Buckle Restaurant, Buckaroo&#8217;s Pizza and Snack Shack, Edible Arrangements, Jack&#8217;s Grille at the Mountain Laurel Golf Course, Jireh&#8217;s Pizzeria and Restaurant, St. Patrick&#8217;s Parish Hall Catering, and White Haven Subway.</p><p>A raffle consisted of great prizes generously donated by Harmony Beverage, Jimbo&#8217;s Freeland Party Beverage, Northeast Eagle Distributors, and Friends of the Library.</p><p>We also thank the many volunteers who donated their time, homemade food and other valuable contributions too numerous to list.</p><p>The White Haven Area Community Library, established in 1997, found its permanent home in the beautifully restored historic railroad Engine House at 99 Towanda St., almost three years ago. Our nonprofit library receives no federal or state funding, and is reliant on fundraising, grants and gifts to support our mission of providing facilities, resources and programs to benefit residents of all ages in our community.</p><p>Again, our most sincere thanks to everyone who helped and who attended the 2016 Hops &amp; Grapes Fest, and we look forward to seeing everyone again next year.</p><p><strong>Sheri Carlton Trutt</strong></p><p>Chairwoman</p><p>Fundraising Committee</p><p>White Haven Area Community Library</p><style>
