Our Opinion: Public wrongly left in dark when Pittston Area terminates ‘nameless’ school employee

<p>EDWARDSVILLE &#8212; Morgan Bienkowski knocked in a run with a sacrifice fly and Meghan Armstrong scored on a wild pitch as Holy Redeemer rallied to defeat Mid Valley 5-4 in nine innings to win its second consecutive District 2 Class 2A softball championship.</p><p>The Royals trailed 3-0 after four innings, but scored once in the fifth and twice in the sixth to force extra innings. Mid Valley took a 4-3 lead in the top of the ninth on Abbie Mills&#8217; solo homer to left field.</p><p>Redeemer fought back and loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth on a single by Abby Shorts, a walk by Armstrong and a bunt single by Sam Rajza. Bienkowski then hit a foul pop down the left field line that was caught but deep enough for Shorts to score. Mid Valley got a second out before Armstrong scored on a wild pitch to keep the defending Class 2A state champions&#8217; season going.</p><p>Redeemer will play in the first round of the PIAA Class 2A playoffs on Monday.</p><style>
