$6.5 million in Luzerne County capital projects pitched

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A Luzerne County judge Thursday ordered Verizon Wireless to provide the subscriber information for two cellphones investigators suspect are connected to the robbery of a food delivery man in Kingston last month.</p><p>President Judge Richard Hughes III approved the order sought by the District Attorney&#8217;s Office to aid in the investigation.</p><p>According to the affidavit of probable cause to support the order:</p><p>Kingston police responded to the area of Cherry Street and Zerby Avenue at approximately 6:50 p.m. on May 14 for a reported robbery of a man delivering food for the Number 1 Chinese restaurant. The delivery man told police that he was pepper sprayed. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police went to the building on Cherry Street where the robbery occurred but found no one during a search.</p><p>A detective interviewed the delivery man who said he knocked on the door and was met by three women. One of them told him she had $50 bill and invited him inside. He entered the residence and set down the food. As one of the woman said she had to get the money he was sprayed in the face.</p><p>The detective later obtained a court order for the phone records of the two land lines to the restaurant. The detective found two cellphone numbers were placed to the land lines around the time frame an order and food delivery could be made. Investigators said they believed the release of the cellphone records will assist with the ongoing investigation of the robbery and identify the subscriber information used to place the delivery order.</p><style>
