Police shoot man who called 911 to say he killed wife

FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. (AP) — A 24-year-old woman is recovering after police say she was shot in the shoulder by an apparently random bullet while watching two young children swim in a pool. State Police said Wednesday they don't know who fired the shot early Saturday evening that struck Jessica Hockenberry as she sat beside her in-laws' pool in Fayetteville, Pennsylvania. Hockenberry says doctors left the bullet inside her because she's 33 weeks pregnant. She's still sore and bruised. She didn't hear anyone firing guns while watching her son and his cousin swim, and didn't realize at first her injury was a gunshot and not a dislocated shoulder. Police are warning people who shoot that they're responsible for wherever their bullets land. Pennsylvania maintains year-round seasons for hunting coyotes, groundhogs, skunks, weasels and possums.
