PITTSBURGH (AP) — Prosecutors dropped one of two witness intimidation charges as the trial opened for a suspended western Pennsylvania teacher accused of trying to intimidate a female student who accused another teacher of having sex with her. Drew Zoldak is accused of pointing out the Plum High School girl in class last year and telling students she was the reason he was questioned by the Allegheny County district attorney's office. A related charge, when Zoldak allegedly asked the girl if she'd object to a classroom discussion of sexual assault, was dropped after prosecutors said they couldn't prove it. Zoldak's attorney says even if he did point out the girl, he didn't intimidate her or suggest she shouldn't cooperate with authorities. The other teacher convicted of having sex with that girl is serving 2 to 5 years in prison.
