ALLENTOWN &#8212; It&#8217;s starting to feel like last year all over again for the Holy Redeemer Royals.Meghan Armstrong drove home three important early runs, TianaWren scored twice and Allyson Laiuvara punctuated a 7-1 victory with a two-run double as the Royals handled Kutztown in a PIAA Class 2A softball quarterfinal game at Allentown&#8217;s Patriot Park.Armstrong&#8217;s bases-loaded single tied the game 1-1 in the second inning and she polished off Redeemer&#8217;s three-run second inning with a looping two-run double.Both of Armstrong&#8217;s hits scored Wren, who went 4-for-4 and cut short an early Kutztown rally by throwing a runner out at the plate from short center field to end the top of the first inning.Wren went 4-for-4, while Morgan Bienkowski and Armstrong both finished with two hits in a Royals 14-hit attack.Defending state champion Redeemer will face District 11 champion Pine Grove in a state semifinal Monday at a site and time to be determined.Bienkowski picked up the victory in relief of starter Kristen Coffay, who allowed five hits but just one run in three innings.
