First Posted: 10/24/2012 Clare E. Brown, 72, of Mountain Top, passed away Sunday evening, Oct. 21, 2012, at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, following a sudden illness.
Born in Hazleton, Aug. 31, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Agatha (Loskill) Kurilla and spent the past 27 years in Mountain Top after moving from Hazle Township. Prior to her retirement in 2005, she had been employed in the accounting department for Stroehmann Bakeries, Valmont Industrial Park for 22 years. She was a member of St. Jude's Roman Catholic Church, Mountain Top and enjoyed gardening, painting, and taking care of her pet dogs. 
She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Richard J. Dick Brown, who passed away June 30, 2011. 
Surviving are three children, Jeffrey MacNeal and his companion, Cindy, Hazleton, Lisa Fairchild and her companion, Richard Rothfuss, Hazle Township, Joyce Glahn, Hazleton; seven grandchildren, Kristen, Maria, Jacob, Cory, Charlie, Paige, Julian; a great-grandson, Logan; two sisters, Mary Jane Trama and her husband, Robert, Cinnaminson, N.J., Nancy Czarick and her husband, Gerald, Bensalem; two brothers, James and his wife, Carol, Glen Rock, Michael, Hazleton; many nieces and nephews. 

Her funeral will be held Friday at 4 p.m. from Harman Funeral Homes &amp;amp; Crematory Inc. (East), 669 W. Butler Drive, Drums. Her Pastor, the Rev. Joseph Evanko, will officiate the services. Following private cremation, interment will take place privately at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.
