DORRANCE TWP. &#8212; The township supervisors announced that a major road paving project is scheduled to begin by the end of July.The project involves edging repair, overlay paving and line painting of St. Mary&#8217;s Road by Pennsy Supply Company Inc.Pennsy Supply&#8217;s price is $112,915.28.Township Secretary/Treasurer Patricia Davis said the township has a &#8220;guarantee&#8221; of a $100,000 grant from Office of Community Development to help finance the project. Davis also stated that there is some hope that an additional $12,000 will come from the office.Supervisor Kevin Gallagher said the edges of roadway by heavy equipment used by the Sheehan Pipeline Construction Company of Tulsa, Oklahoma, when a natural gas line was installed in 2015. Sheehan filed for bankruptcy in April, leaving the township with the task of making the repairs.Since the pipeline installation was initiated by a major national firm, Williams Pipeline Company of Oklahoma, Gallagher said he is hopeful now that officers at Williams will &#8220;come through&#8221; with some compensation to help fund the road repairs.The supervisors also received a plea from Marge Fetterman of Maple Springs Road, who asked for speed limit signs to be installed on Taney Road.
