Chad Green pitched one of the best starts in his career on Thursday night for the RailRiders.Unfortunately for the right-hander and for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, he made just one mistake. And it cost him.Jacoby Jones hit a three-run home run in the third inning, spoiling Green&#8217;s career-high 11 strikeouts as Toledo snapped the RailRiders&#8217; season-high six-game winning streak with a 3-2 victory at Fifth Third Field.Jones&#8217; blast, which came on an 0-2 count, was the first longball Green allowed this season. The homer was also one of just four hits that the 25-year-old Green gave up on the night in seven innings. Three of the Mud Hens&#8217; hits came in that frame and all occurred with two outs. But Green still became the first RailRider to notch 11 or more strikeouts in a game since Chase Whitley whiffed 11 vs. Indianapolis on May 6, 2014.After Jones&#8217; homer, Green, pitching against his former organization, retired 10 in a row and 13 of the last 14 batters he faced. The only runner to reach base in that stretch came on an error in the seventh inning.Matt Wotherspoon, a Crestwood grad, pitched a perfect eighth inning for the RailRiders.SWB took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on run-scoring singles by Cesar Puello and Ben Gamel. But the RailRiders couldn&#8217;t get much more going after that, stranding nine on base and going 2 for 11 with runners in scoring position.The RailRiders are back home Friday night to start a six-game homestand, starting with the first of three against Gwinnett at 7:05.
