Bass fishing season kicks off locally

<p>ASHLEY &#8212; Police have arrested a man whose girlfriend told officers that she feared the man was going to do something &#8220;that looked like Orlando.&#8221;</p><p>Ashley police arrested Charles Dennis at 84 North Main St., Ashley, around 9:58 p.m. Saturday on a report that he was threatening to blow up a building with dynamite. Police said Dennis was found to be in possession of dynamite.</p><p>According to the police report, the Ashley Borough Fire Department, along with the Scranton EOD Unit were placed on standby. Occupants of the apartment building were evacuated as officers attempted to make contact with the male suspect.</p><p>Police said the suspect&#8217;s girlfriend advised officers that the she overheard the suspect talking to his brother on the telephone saying that he was going to blow up the building and do something that &#8220;looked like Orlando.&#8221;</p><p>Officers eventually entered the suspect&#8217;s apartment and took Dennis into custody. The suspect was found to be in possession of a quarter stick of dynamite.</p><p>Dennis was transported to the Ashley Borough Police Station for processing and was charged with possession of explosives, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct. He was transported to the Luzerne County Correctional Facility for overnight arraignment.</p><style>
