<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; A 22-year-old man sentenced to between 10 and 20 years in prison earlier this month asked a judge to reconsider and cut the time behind bars in half.</p><p>Walter McKinley Lewis, of Wilkes-Barre, pleaded guilty to a total of 14 charges from four separate cases, <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/375611/wilkes-barre-kidnapping-suspect-free-on-bail-on-assault-charges" target="_blank">including the abduction of a 16-year-old Jenae Patterson</a> at gunpoint outside her residence in the Mineral Springs apartments last July that led to the issuance of a statewide Amber Alert.</p><p>Through his attorney Janan Tallo, Lewis asked Luzerne County Judge David Lupas to reduce the sentence imposed June 10, citing his &#8220;young age, exposure to violence in his childhood home and lack of parental authority during his developmental years &#8221; as reasons for the lower sentence of between 5 and 10 years or &#8220;or any departure&#8221; the court is willing to give.</p><p>Lupas imposed the most time for the weapons&#8217; charges police filed against Lewis - four to eight years for possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number and three to six years for carrying a firearm without a license.</p><p>The other cases involved the his capture by police, the assault of Patterson in 2014 and the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.</p><style>
