PITTSBURGH (AP) — A western Pennsylvania man has pleaded guilty to charges in the accidental shooting death of his girlfriend's toddler son last fall. Thirty-one-year-old Harrison Marshman of Pittsburgh pleaded guilty Monday in Allegheny County to involuntary manslaughter and endangering the welfare of a child. Authorities said Marshman noticed 22-month-old Josiah Taylor grabbing a loaded gun that he had left on a couch in his apartment on Sept. 1, so he removed the magazine and placed the firearm back on the couch. Authorities said the boy reached for the weapon a second time, and Marshman then tried to remove a live round from the chamber but accidentally pulled the trigger. The child was struck in the chest and died later at Allegheny General Hospital. Marshman will be sentenced on Sept. 15.
