<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and blues legend Buddy Guy performs at 8 p.m. Sept. 30 at the F.M. Kirby Center, 71 Public Square.</p><p>The 79-year-old is regarded as a pioneer of Chicago&#8217;s West Side sound and a major influence on blues icons who came after him like Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughan.</p><p>Guy is the most recognized musician in the history of the Blues Music Awards with 34 awards. He&#8217;s received seven Grammy awards and a lifetime achievement Grammy in 2015.</p><p>His newest studio album &#8220;Born to Play Guitar&#8221; debuted at No. 1 on Billboard&#8217;s Top Blues Albums chart when it was released in July 2015. The album features collaborations with Van Morrison, Joss Stone, Kim Wilson and Billy Gibbons.</p><p>Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday and are available at the Kirby Center box office, by phone at 570-826-1100 and online at kirbycenter.org. A pre-sale for Kirby members begins at 10 a.m. June 22. Ticket prices are $45, $55, $65 and $99 plus fees.</p><style>
