<p>BEAR CREEK TWP. &#8212; New accounting software and staff raises made up the bulk of a short meeting agenda for the Bear Creek Community Charter School board of trustees Monday.</p><p>The board approved the purchase and implementation of a new financial accounting and human resources management software package from Skyward. The package, which will cost no more than $34,766 in one-time implementation charges, approximately $7,200 per year for annual operating costs and a one-time $3,500 purchase of a time clock, will allow the school to integrate accounting, payroll, paid time off requests, and a number of other functions.</p><p>School administrators said the time clock, which can use existing pass cards, fingerprint ID technology and other means of authentication, can be used to make sure the school remains in compliance with rules governing part-time employee status. It can also be used to facilitate counting volunteer hours for parent volunteers.</p><p>Also approved were staff raises totaling $104,966 for virtually all school staff. Raises range from three to five percent, depending on the employee&#8217;s position, the board noted. The school will pay a total of $2,259,859 in salaries for the next school year after raises are factored in, school administrators said.</p><p>In other business, the board approved new school meal prices for the next year. Student lunches will increase five cents to $2.25, or 40 cents for the reduced lunch prices. Student breakfasts will be $1.05, 30 cents for reduced cost breakfast. Adult breakfasts will be $2, while adult lunches are $3.</p><p>The board also acted to designate $2.2 million of a $2.9 million fund balance to future capital projects. The remaining $700,000 is being held in contingency to ensure operating funds in case another situation like last year&#8217;s state budget delay is encountered this year, school officials said.</p><style>
