GREAT LAKES WATER CHICAGO — Representatives of the eight states in the Great Lakes region are preparing to decide whether a city in the Milwaukee suburbs qualifies to tap Lake Michigan as its drinking water source. Waukesha, Wisconsin says the groundwater wells on which it has long relied are contaminated with radium. The city is only 15 miles from the lake. CHEESESTEAK SHOP-BEATING— Police are looking for five men who brutally attacked a group of friends outside a popular Philadelphia cheesesteak shop earlier this month. ATTORNEY-MONEY LAUNDERING — After spending nine months in a Pennsylvania federal prison on a money laundering charge, a Saco attorney is set to resume his law practice in Maine. MARIJUANA BUST — Authorities in Maryland say two Philadelphia men are facing charges after troopers found more than 900 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop along Interstate 95. MOTHER-BATHTUB DROWNING — Trial has again been delayed for a western Pennsylvania woman charged with drowning her two young sons in a bathtub. STEEL PLANT FIRE— Fire officials say there were two explosions and a fire at a suburban Pittsburgh steel plant. Plant officials say it happened around 7:30 p.m. Monday in the steelmaking area of the U.S. Steel Edgar Thomson facility in Braddock. PENNSYLVANIA TURNPIKE-EMERGENCY REPAIRS— Motorists are facing delays on the Pennsylvania Turnpike because of emergency repairs. The westbound right lane is closed Tuesday between Exit 146 in Bedford to Exit 110 in Somerset. PARK-HANDCUFFED BODY — Police made an arrest after a woman was found handcuffed, stabbed and shot last week inside a Philadelphia park. The body of 26-year-old Toy Charda Bryant was found face down in Fairmount Park. She had been shot in the back of the head and repeatedly stabbed. SPORTS: BBN--GIANTS-PIRATES PITTSBURGH — Johnny Cueto looks for his 11th win on Tuesday when the San Francisco Giants visit the Pittsburgh Pirates.
