On the Books: ‘Fool in Love’ appeals to wide ranging audience

<p>FAIRMOUNT TWP. &#8212; A man accused of pointing a gun at his wife, as well as shooting her dogs and burning their bodies, is heading to higher court.</p><p>Steven Saxe, 37, of Saxe Road in Sweet Valley, appeared before Magisterial District Judge John Hasay for a preliminary hearing Wednesday.</p><p>Court documents indicate Saxe&#8217;s charges of aggravated assault, firearms not to be carried without a license, recklessly endangering another person, harassment, burglary and cruelty to animals were waived to higher court.</p><p>Two summary charges of cruelty to animals were withdrawn.</p><p>Police allege that <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/531734/police-sweet-valley-man-pointed-gun-at-his-wife-residents-inside-their-home" target="_blank">Saxe pointed a gun at others, including his wife,</a> as he allegedly searched for a man after an argument with his wife on April 13. Saxe is also accused of <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/local/544307/police-sweet-valley-man-shot-his-wifes-dogs-burned-their-bodies" target="_blank">shooting his wife&#8217;s dogs and burning their bodies</a>.</p><p>Court documents indicate Saxe is scheduled for a formal arraignment at 1 p.m. on Sept. 15 in the Luzerne County Courthouse.</p><p>Saxe is free on bail.</p><style>
