WILKES-BARRE - King&#8217;s College Education Department will partner with Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18 to host an &#8220;Evidence-Based&#8221; conference from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 11, in the Sheehy-Farmer Campus Center, located between North Franklin and North Main streets.This year&#8217;s theme is &#8220;STR&#178;E&#178;AM: Evidence-Based Practices.&#8221; Participants will choose three from 21 one-hour workshops designed to aid Pre-K-12 teachers in the areas of science, technology, reading, writing, engineering, early childhood, arts and mathematics. The workshops will be taught by members of King&#8217;s faculty as well as teachers from member schools and pre-schools of Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18.Registration begins at 8 a.m. The registration fee is $20 for undergraduate students and registrations prior to June 30; $25 after that date. Pre-registration is encouraged, however walk-in registration is accepted at the standard rate.
