DUBOIS, Pa. (AP) — Jurors in central Pennsylvania have convicted a man of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of his girlfriend last summer. The Clearfield County panel also convicted 36-year-old Joseph Fields of aggravated assault and reckless endangering Wednesday in the Sept. 22 death of 33-year-old Nicole Snyder. Police in Dubois found the victim dead and said the victim's 6-year-old son, who was covered in blood, told officers "Joe killed my mommy." Fields was captured in some woods several hours later after a manhunt in Elk and Clearfield counties. Fields took the stand in his own defense Tuesday and testified that he stabbed Snyder several times after the two got into an argument and he "just snapped." He said "I'm sorry she lost her life and I'm sorry to her family."
