PLYMOUTH &#8212; Caleb McManus stole home on a passed ball to give West Side the lead for good in the top of the sixth inning as it defeated West Pittston 10-8 Saturday in District 31 9-10 Little League baseball.Matthew Magda pitched two scoreless innings to get victory on the mound, while Carson Brown and Scotty Davis had two hits apiece in the win.West Pittston&#8217;s Jayden Roncor had three hits and Anthony Federici chipped in with two hits.Kingston/Forty Fort 17,Northwest 0Mason Mattello (winning pitcher), Davis Motyka and Teddy Kraus combined on a no-hitter in a four-inning victory.Mattello led the offense as well, finishing with four hits and six RBI for Kingston/Forty Fort. Luke Kopec added three hits while Motyka and Kraus had two apiece.DISTRICT 169-10 BASEBALLMountain Top 18,Pittston City 0Chaz Wright, Colton Rinehimer, Mason Czapla and Evyn Makowski all had multiple hits in a four-inning victory. Rinehimer picked up the win, allowing two hits.Silvio Giardina and Aiden O&#8217;Haire singled for Pittston City.Plains 9, Duryea 1Jack Mihalchik was 2 for 4 with four RBI to pace Plains. Jordan Wychock pitched 3.2 innings to pick up the win.Duryea&#8217;s Marshall Gordon hit his first career homer.Jenkins Township 18,South Wilkes-Barre 3Keegan Salts went 4 for 4 and Josh Jones gave up just two hits in a four-inning win. Drew Cisney, Kaden Rowan and Jake Astewicz all added two hits for Jenkins Township.Aiden Fellerman had both hits for South Wilkes-Barre.DISTRICT 1610-11 BASEBALLPittston Twp. 11,Avoca/Dupont 1Robby Barbieri, Ethan Clarke, Nick Sciandra and Jim Spindler combined for 10 hits to pace Pittston Township&#8217;s offense. Clarke and A.J. Grieco pitched the victory.Noah Calloway, Nick Franchetti and Kaidan Thomas each had a hit for Avoca/Dupont.Hanover 13, Nanticoke 3Braden Smith had four hits and was the winning pitcher for Hanover.Collin Klein added two hits for Hanover and Christian Torres had a triple. Aiden Frields and Aiden Kelsall had a hit each.Gabe Josefowicz and Jeff Ultch each had two hits to pace Nanticoke.Mountain Top 12,South Wilkes-Barre 2Ryan Covlens homered and Connor Murtha and Grant Rose each had two-run doubles as Mountain Top defeated South Wilkes-Barre.Canden Flecknoe had a single in the second inning for South Wilkes-Barre.DISTRICT 3110-11 BASEBALLNorthwest 9,Kingston/Forty Fort 5Hunter Gmiter and Ricky Hynick each hit two-run doubles for Northwest in its victory.Back Mtn. Mike Cumbo recorded four strikeouts.Liam Hite doubled for American. Lucas Tirpak added single and an RBI.BIG LEAGUEBASEBALLNorthwest 8,Mercer 2Tyler Kolb had four hits, including a homer, and finished a triple short of the cycle as Northwest won in the Little League Big League state tournament at Mansfield University on Friday.Kolb finished with three RBI and four runs scored. He, Tommy Williams and Doug Campbell combined on a three-hitter with six strikeouts.
