<p>Wilkes-Barre &#8212; Another year of the<a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/560830/wilkes-barre-farmers-market-opens-for-2016-season" target="_blank"> Wilkes-Barre Farmers Market kicked off </a>on Thursday, June 30, at the event&#8217;s usual spot on Public Square downtown. The market can be a source of locally grown ingredients for chefs or an educational experience for young chefs-in-training; in this Times Leader archival photo, Plains resident Shirley Jescavage picks out corn with her daughter, Danielle. This year&#8217;s farmers market will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. every Thursday through Nov. 17.</p><style>
