Legislators expect ignition interlocks to significantly reduce DUI offenses

<p>SCRANTON &#8212; Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will talk jobs when she comes to town this morning, outlining her plan for an economy that she says will work for everyone in Pennsylvania.</p><p>Clinton, the daughter of the late Scranton native Hugh Rodham, will be joined by Scranton&#8217;s native son, Vice President Joe Biden. The event, being held at Riverfront Sports, 5 West Olive St., Scranton, is free and open to the public.</p><p>The doors are scheduled to open at 10 a.m. The campaign said members of the public who wish to attend can register online at <a href="https://www.hillaryclinton.com/events" target="_blank">hillaryclinton.com/events</a>.</p><p>Campaign officials said they had no estimates of how many will attend the event or how many the venue can accommodate.</p><p>The visit will be Clinton&#8217;s second trip to Northeastern Pennsylvania this election cycle, following an April visit to Dunmore. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, also visited Scranton earlier that month to campaign on her behalf.</p><p>U.S. Sen. Bob Casey, D-Scranton, is expected to be with Clinton and Biden at Friday&#8217;s event.</p><p>&#8220;Hillary is focused on making important investments in our state&#8217;s infrastructure, small business and manufacturing while breaking down barriers to ensure that Pennsylvania families make ends meet,&#8221; Casey said in a statement. &#8220;From Somerset to Scranton, she will lead our state in the right direction and put forward an agenda that works for everyone, not just those at the top.&#8221;</p><p>According to information provided by her campaign, if elected, Clinton plans to start her first 100 days with the largest investment in good-paying jobs since World War II &#8212; including a $10 billion &#8220;Make it in America&#8221; plan to strengthen manufacturing in Pennsylvania and across the country.</p><p>And, the campaign said, &#8220;she will re-write the rules to stop Wall Street risking the economy for Main Street, stating too many companies have been shipping jobs overseas, and foreign countries are cheating the rules on trade.&#8221;</p><p>Despite Pennsylvania&#8217;s economy adding 378,000 jobs over 75 months since the &#8220;Great Recession,&#8221; a statement from Clinton&#8217;s campaign pointed to remaining challenges, including &#8220;a political system that works for the wealthy, but is doing too little to help working Pennsylvanians; too many corporations that favor short-term gains over investments in Pennsylvania workers and communities; and outdated policies that have not kept up with changes in how Pennsylvania families live, learn, and work.&#8221;</p><p>Clinton is the presumptive Democratic nominee for president and is expected to be opposed by Republican candidate Donald Trump, who campaigned in Wilkes-Barre in April. Pennsylvania is seen as a key state in deciding the 2016 election.</p><style>
