WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Public defenders made a motion to release a repeat offender whose has been deemed incompetent to stand trial and drop all charges against him.Paul Woychio, formerly of Nanticoke and Hanover Township, with a most recent address of Dupont, was arrested in May 2015 for <a href="https://www.timesleader.com/uncategorized/17459/dupont-man-previously-ruled-incompetent-faces-new-robbery-charge" target="_blank">allegedly holding a knife to a woman and stealing $60 from her</a>.<a href="https://www.timesleader.com/news/558617/judge-habitual-offender-again-deemed-incompetent-to-stand-trial" target="_blank">On June 24</a>, Luzerne County Judge Joseph Sklarosky Jr. found Woychio incompetent to proceed in the trial for the robbery, stayed the proceedings and ordered a competency re-evaluation for next June. Woychio then posted bail with home confinement and electric monitoring.In court documents, Woychio&#8217;s court appointed lawyers argue since Woychio has been found incompetent to stand trial, he cannot be confined to his home and the charges against him should be dropped.Woychio, who suffered permanent brain damage in a motorcycle accident in 1993, has had dozens cases filed against him.
