It was a total team effort as every Pittston Area starter had at least one hit in the team&#8217;s 12-9 District 16 10-11 Championship win over Mountain Top on Friday.Callie Booth had two hits and two runs scored; Skylar Borthwick finished with two hits and Sophia Vanesko recorded two hits and two runs.Ava Serino was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts.Gabriella Ambosie and Jessica Niznik each had three hits for Mountain Top.9-10 SOFTBALLGreater Pittston 26,Mountain Top 0Gianna Adams and Kate Wywoda combined on a four-inning no-hitter to push Greater Pittston into the championship round.Every player in the Greater Pittston lineup recorded at least one hit.DISTRICT 319-10 SOFTBALLKingston/West Side 19,Harveys Lake 7In a game played Thursday, Maddie Austra finished 3 for 3 with five RBI in a four-inning victory. Mackenzie Perluke and Rylee Geffert combined for the win in the circle.Hope Hummel led Harveys Lake with a three-run triple.9-10 softball Back Mountain 11, Greater Wyoming Area 14 inns.Victoria Spaciano threw a one-hitter, striking out 11 batters to lead Back Mountain past Greater Wyoming Area.At the plate, Spaciano finished with three hits, while teammate Brenna Hunt had a home run and 2 RBI. Ava Hudak chipped in with two hits and Allison Vitanovec and Abby Cruz each had a hit.GWA&#8217;s Jilliam Graham had four strikeouts, while Kayla Leo finished with a singe single and RBI.DISTRICT 319-10 BASEBALLBack Mtn. American 4,Exeter 3Sam Barrouk drove in Jude Nocito in the top of the seventh to give American the lead in extra innings. Barrouk picked up the win on the mound, striking out six in four innings.Allan Lisman tied things up with a hit in the top of the sixth. Zach Paczewski led American with two hits. Exeter&#8217;s Dane Schutter had two hits of his own and pitched five strong innings.Kingston/Forty Fort 14,West Side 0Davis Motyka and Sean Murach combined on a no-hitter as Kingston/Forty Fort won in four innings.Jacob Stevens finished with four hits and three RBI while Mason Matello had three hits and four RBI. Motyka added two hits and drove in three runs while picking up the win on the mound.Kingston will face Back Mountain American for the district title at 8 p.m. Sunday at Exeter.9-10Mountain Top 14, Plains 7Mason Czapla and Robert Duffy each had two hits and Logan Rolles chipped in with three RBI to lead Mountain Top.Ryan Greives two RBI in the victory. Colton Rinehimer was the winning pitcher giving up four hits and striking out two batters. James Barrett made two running catches in center field for Mountain Top.Plains was led by Jack Mihalchik&#8217;s three hits.Mountain Top will play Hanover in the championship game on Sunday.DISTRICT 169-10 BASEBALLHanover 10, Nanticoke 0Cole Whitman tossed a one-hitter and went 3 for 3 at the plate in a four-inning victory. Jacob Vigorito slammed a three-run homer and Andrew Rojas added a hit in the win.Derek Miller had the lone hit for Nanticoke.Hanover will take on Mountain Top for the district crown at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Exeter.District 31 Junior Little League 13-14Back Mountain 13, Greater Wyoming Area 3Alex Magdalinski picked up the win on the mound, going 4 1/3 innings with three strikeouts and three key picks offs in the game.Teammate Lucas McGeehan had a two-run doubled and Todd Phillips and Frank Nockley each doubled.GWA&#8217;s Gavin Lahart had two hits; FJ Braccini singled, doubled and an RBI and Chase Yochem had an RBI.<style>
