<p>SCRANTON &#8212; The U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced today that a Hazleton man has been sentenced to prison for stealing firearms from a sporting goods store.</p><p>Stefan Rease, 20 of Hazleton, was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Malachy Mannion in Scranton to 20 months in prison on Wednesday, according to a news release.</p><p>In April 2016, Rease pleaded guilty to breaking into a sporting goods store in Hazleton and stealing firearms.</p><p>The case was brought as part of the Violent Crime Reduction Partnership (VCRP), a district wide initiative to combat the spread of violent crime in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Led by the U.S. Attorney&#8217;s Office, the VCRP consists of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies whose mission is to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who commit violent crimes.</p><p>The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Hazleton Police Department.</p><style>
