So the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre ace got to show his best stuff on Thursday instead.Green and reliever Kirby Yates combined on a one-hitter to blank Gwinnett 2-0 on Thursday at Coolray Field, as the RailRiders pitchers faced just two batters over the minimum.Ike Davis slugged a two-run homer in the top of the sixth to secure the win for Green, who was once again masterful on the mound, striking out eight in eight innings of work.He retired the first 13 batters he faced &#8212; striking out six of them &#8212; before Rio Ruiz ended the suspense just as it was starting to build with a single in the bottom of the fifth.No matter. Green then set down 11 in a row to close out the eighth inning before giving way to Yates to start the ninth.
