Three officers killed and three injured in Baton Rouge shooting, sheriff’s office says

<p>WILKES-BARRE &#8212; Police say they discovered syringes in a box marked &#8220;Tampax tampons&#8221; after searching the purse of a woman who fled a vehicle accident Saturday.</p><p>According to police, officers responded to George Avenue around 9:39 a.m. and, upon arrival, were told by a witness that two women fled the seen, one was white and the other black, both wearing black tops.</p><p>Two women matching the descriptions were located at the entrance to Mineral Springs apartments along Woodside Drive about a block from the George Avenue accident. They admitted leaving the scene, and one identified herself as Latesha Twyman.</p><p>A check showed Twyman had an active warrant and a sheriff&#8217;s capias, or writ, ordering arrest of the person. Twyman was taken into custody and searched.</p><p>Police say her purse contained drug paraphernalia, including the syringes in the tampon box, as well as plastic spoons with scorch marks and resin. A bundle wrapped with a rubber band had small wax paper pouches often used to package heroine, and clear plastic bags with 14 small green pills identified as Clonazepam, a prescription sedative.</p><p>Police say Twyman did not have a prescription for the Clonazepam.</p><style>
