Our Opinion: Wait for ex-senator Bob Mellow’s book to hit discount bin

<p>I have much difficulty with electronics. Among friends, there is joking about my aversion to computers.</p><p>There is a clear reason for this; it is a &#8220;left side of the brain&#8221; inability. I am more attuned to the areas of imagination, spatial orientation and perspective than I am to science, math and technology.</p><p>I think that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is better at policy than email separation. Her political enemies want (or need) to portray her as manipulative (and evil), when she might only be less than talented in this phase of modern learning.</p><p>President Barack Obama is better, but even he needed a &#8220;geek squad&#8221; to rescue the Affordable Care Act, better known as Obamacare. (I know that this explanation stands in the way of Clinton as the Dragon Lady.)</p><p>Being a computer genius is not something, in itself, that would make any person a good president. The need is for someone deliberate, balanced and reliable &#8211; somebody who can frame an issue(s) historically and philosophically. The endgame should be good decisions and good policy.</p><p>Although Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is good at Twitter, what else can he do? Even his tweets are bathed in angry, rash and hateful language.</p><p>Can rational judgments ever result? Any good he would exhibit is swamped by juvenile behavior.</p><p>Once asked why I believe in original sin, I answered, &#8220;Have you ever seen a 2-year-old throw a temper tantrum?&#8221; (Not an original observation.)</p><p>We need a grownup to be president.</p><p><strong>Richard J.
