DETROIT (AP) — A former president of the Detroit City Council has been ordered to stand trial on charges of criminal sexual conduct involving a teen more than a decade ago. The allegations against Charles Pugh (PEW) go back to 2003 and 2004 when he was a TV journalist. He was elected to the council in 2009 but quit in 2013 and left Detroit as unflattering allegations in a separate case became public. A man who's now 27 testified Friday that when he was 16, he engaged in sex acts with Pugh. He says he met Pugh during a visit to WJBK-TV. Judge Deborah Langston says there's enough evidence to send Pugh to trial. She called him a pedophile.
