<p>Logan&#8217;s Roadhouse Inc., a popular national chain with a restaurant location in Wilkes-Barre Township, has filed for bankruptcy, with plans to close 18 &#8220;underperforming&#8221; locations as part of its overall effort to improve the company&#8217;s financial performance.</p><p>The organization is filing under Chapter 11, which allows for reorganization and restructuring of debt.</p><p>Locally, the business operates on Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard and continues to have significant activity on its Facebook page, with updated specials.</p><p>It&#8217;s unclear whether the local restaurant is one of the 18 to close. The list of restaurants targeted for closure was not released.</p><p>In a prepared statement, the company said a plan was in place to assist employees in closing restaurants, reassigning employees to other Logan&#8217;s restaurants and providing them with outplacement services and assistance with applying for jobs.</p><p>&#8220;In conjunction with the balance sheet restructuring, the Company is focused on key operational initiatives to improve the guest experience and to build on the more than 30,000,000 guests that visit our restaurants each year,&#8221; the company said in a prepared statement.</p><p>Logan&#8217;s said its CEO, Sam Borgese, will leave the company, but it was not immediately clear when a replacement would be identified.</p><p>The Nashville, Tenn.-based company, which currently operates 256 locations, said that it filed under a &#8220;consensual plan&#8221; among its owners, debt holders and bondholders.</p><p>Logan&#8217;s plans to restructure its balance sheet and provide enough to fund a turnaround, according to a release.</p><p>&#8220;The company&#8217;s owners, lenders, bondholders, board of directors and senior management are committed to ensuring the company&#8217;s future growth and success, and today&#8217;s filing is simply a necessary step to achieve those goals,&#8221; Logan&#8217;s said in a statement.</p><p>The casual-dining chain has struggled with heavy debt and falling sales.</p><p>Employees from the local establishment declined to comment.</p><p>The organization&#8217;s director of community engagement, Becky Shaw, did not return a call from the Times Leader.</p><style>
