MOOSIC &#8212; The last time both the Phillies and Yankees Triple-A teams were battling for the top spot in the International League this late in the season was in 1992. The Columbus Clippers defeated the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons in the Governors&#8217; Cup championship.So something big had to happen on Tuesday night at PNC Field when the RailRiders and IronPigs took each other&#8217;s best shot in front of 7,718 fans.In a tug of war between the top two teams in Triple-A baseball, Scranton/Wilkes-Barre won on a walk-off, getting a sacrifice fly by Ben Gamel in the bottom of the ninth for a 3-2 win.It was the RailRiders&#8217; sixth straight victory and 10th consecutive win at home, tying the record for the Yankees era, which was set in 2007. The IronPigs fell to three games behind SWB in the International League North.&#8220;It&#8217;s fun,&#8221; RailRiders starter Chad Green said. &#8220;They have a good team. They have a really good lineup. So it&#8217;s a fun series for sure.&#8221;It was a matter of which team was going to make the fewest mistakes. And it happened to be the RailRiders.Kyle Higashioka walked in the ninth, moving to second on a wild pick off attempt by Lehigh Valley reliever Dalier Hinojosa. A single by Pete Kozma moved pinch-runner Cesar Puello to third, setting up Gamel&#8217;s heroics for the RailRiders&#8217; third walk-off win over the IronPigs this season.&#8220;Winning any game is important, but today it was even better because we executed the little things,&#8221; SWB skipper Al Pedrique said. &#8220;We didn&#8217;t hit homers, but we executed the little things when it counted.&#8221;Both team&#8217;s strengths were on display to start the game as Lehigh Valley starter Phil Klein and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre starter Chad Green each struck out 10 in five innings.&#8220;It&#8217;s always fun going up against someone like that. He was throwing really well and our guys were having a tough time with him,&#8221; Green said. &#8220;It&#8217;s always fun because you&#8217;re out there every five minutes it seems like. Things are going pretty quick, so you&#8217;re able to stay in a better routine.&#8221;The RailRiders went right after Klein in the top of the first. Clint Frazier &#8211; who went 2 for 4 with his first multi-hit game as a RailRider &#8211; tripled and scored on a single by Aaron Judge for a 1-0 lead.When Cam Perkins homered for the IronPigs in the top of the second to tie the score at 1-1, it marked the first time Green allowed a run in Triple-A since June 16, a span of 26 innings with the RailRiders. He also saw limited time up in New York during that stretch.The IronPigs went up 2-1 in the fifth on a RBI-single by top Phillies prospect J.P. Crawford. The IronPigs loaded the bases in the inning, but only managed the one run.&#8220;That was a long inning. They put together some good ABs,&#8221; Green said. &#8220;They were fouling some good pitches off, got some bloopers that were just out of reach of our infield.&#8221;Lehigh Valley lefty Hoby Milner, who relieved Klein, entered the game having not allowed a hit in his brief Triple-A career (5 1/3 innings). But he got in trouble in the sixth.Judge walked to start the inning and Tyler Austin followed with a double. After Ike Davis walked to load the bases, Donovan Solano tied the game at 2-2 with a sacrifice fly.Notes: The second of the three-game set at PNC Field is Tuesday night at 7:05 with RailRiders lefty Dietrich Enns (5-2, 1.35) squaring off against IronPigs righty David Buchanan (8-6, 3.82). &#8230; Chris Parmelee, on rehab assignment with the RailRiders, finished the game 1 for 3 playing first base.
