Beyond the Byline: An internship that meant so much more

<p>JIM THORPE &#8212; Dark Star Orchestra will make a stop at Penn&#8217;s Peak during its Fall Tour 2016.</p><p>The 7-piece orchestra has played more than 2,000 shows recreating a Grateful Dead concert experience at each. According to a news release, DSO&#8217;s shows perform a wide variety of Grateful Dead music based on set-list from the past 30 years.</p><p>&#8220;Honoring both the band and the fans, Dark Star Orchestra&#8217;s members seek out the unique style and sound of each era while simultaneously offering their own informed improvisations,&#8221; the news release stated.</p><p>The statement continued: &#8220;The band has featured guest performances from five original Grateful Dead members Bob Weir, Bill Kreutzmann, Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay, Vince Welnick, Tom Constanten and even toured with longtime Dead soundman, Dan Healy. Other notable guests have included Mike Gordon and Jon Fishman of Phish, Keller Williams, Warren Haynes, Steve Kimock, Peter Rowan, Ramblin&#8217; Jack Elliot and many more.&#8221;</p><p>Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Aug. 20 for the 8 p.m. Nov. 23 event and are available at all Ticketmaster outlets, Penn&#8217;s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant and Bar. Penn&#8217;s Peak Box Office and Roadies Restaurant ticket sales are walk-up only. Advance tickets are $25, $30 day of show.</p><style>
