<p>Sunshine is expected in the Wyoming Valley heading into the weekend, but there will also be a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.</p><p>The National Weather Service indicated it was 66 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with light rain and mist reported.</p><p>Partly sunny skies are expected today, along with a slight chance of showers before 9 a.m. and a slight chance of thunderstorms after 2 p.m. The high will be near 85.</p><p>Partly cloudy skies will carry over into tonight, along with a chance of showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of total rainfall is expected, and the low will be around 64.</p><p>Mostly sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, along with some patchy fog before 10 a.m. The high will be near 87.
