Our Opinion: Kathleen Kane’s fall is another black eye for region

<p>Bill Clinton looked us directly (through a TV camera) and told us a lie: &#8220;I did not have sexual relations with that woman.&#8221;</p><p>Isn&#8217;t that all you need to know about the Clintons?</p><p>But Hillary is not Bill; she&#8217;s her own woman, her advocates say. You can&#8217;t call her a liar just because her husband is a liar.</p><p>Really? If Hillary embraced a morality different than Bill&#8217;s, why did she put up with all his infidelities and lies? And why did she accuse other women (Juanita Broaddrick and Paula Jones) of being liars when she knew Bill was the real liar?</p><p>There are only two possibilities. Either: (1) she shares Bill&#8217;s morality, or (2) she doesn&#8217;t lie as much as Bill, but she&#8217;s so hungry for power for herself that she is willing to overlook whatever Bill does, no matter the lack of morality. And isn&#8217;t that, in itself, a lack of morality on her part?</p><p>When you look at the heart of the matter, is there really any difference between Bill and Hill? Haven&#8217;t they both repeatedly lied either to get power or to keep it? And here&#8217;s another question: Can immoral people build and maintain a moral country?
